Raspberry Jamboree, Saturday March 9th 2013

Tue Nov 13, 2012 10:45 pm

I would like to invite you to our 1st Raspberry Jamboree in Manchester on Saturday 9th March. http://raspberryjamboree.eventbrite.com/

One year on from the release of the Raspberry Pi, we aim to identify and share the impact that this low-cost computer is having on education. We plan to focus purely on the potential this device offers for education, not its limitations.

We particularly want to encourage those with an interest in education to attend to discover exactly how to use this device to inspire children to engage with computing. Tickets have been selling rapidly, at the time of writing this there are still a few 'early bird' tickets available.

If you are keen to find out how the Raspberry Pi can be used in education or you have something that you would like to demonstrate, talk about or run a workshop - please get in touch with me.

What will the format for the event be? Is it close to a barcamp with no official schedule and attendee-generated content, or more like a big Jam?

Really looking forward to this one :)

If you live anywhere near Manchester and you like Pi (or Jam) then book a ticket before they all go :)

Jack - it's going be less like BarCamp with many of the sessions/workshops listed in advance. Although, there will still be some unconference flexibility built in.

I am interested in possiblly speaking at the event about the creation and maintenance of raspbian. Would you be interested in such a talk? and if so who should I contact to discuss it further?

I'd just like to say how great it was to be at the Jamboree, to finally meet up and put faces to many of the people who post here on the forums.

It was a fantastic celebration of the Raspberry Pi and RaspberryJam community and well done Alan (teknoteacher)
