I might be missing something, but both in LXDE and KDE, the colors aren't blending correctly. It looks almost like old Win95 16-bit color schemes, and videos look horrible. Yet on Xbian and OpenElec, the HD looks great! Is there a special driver I'm missing? Because I know the raspberry can do better (it's a pi2), and nothing's showing up in "additional drivers"

I'm faced same issue. Xfce background gradient was terrible. Added true color settings to config.txt and fixed.

framebuffer_ignore_alpha=1)
True color mode working like without problem.
But desktop gui performance not good like archlinux or raspbian.

i'm trying to watch youtube videos with youtube-dl and omxplayer. i can log my last active tab in firefox with the firefox addon "URL logger" to ~/firefox-tab.log and then start a simple script/ command with

omxplayer $(youtube-dl -s -g $(cat ~/firefox-tabs.log))

now my youtube video runs smooth in fullscreen

I have downloaded this and write to my sd card and ran this on my pi, with no success with the user: linaro , password: linaro logging in.
From the first boot terminal screen:
linaro-developer:'# ( I type "login" )
linaro-developer:'# login (Then type linaro, pass word: linaro )

Than it takes me here:

The default Firefox browser installed from this image seems fairly unstable, but upgrading to the version here:

http://launchpadlibrarian.net/200859811 ... _armhf.deb

and installing via dpkg -i provides a much more robust experience. Not sure there's any significant advantage over chromium, but maybe worth doing if you're a Firefox user.

Similarly you can retrieve and upgrade chromium (and the corresponding chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra ) to the latest version (41 as of now) from here:

I did not realize the significance of Blender running on this image. Apparently it doesn't run on either Raspian or the Trusty Ubuntu image because the code they run is backward compatible with the original pi which is ARM6 architecture and the new Pi2 is ARM7. What is significant is that a full version of OpenGL is needed to run Blender and that is why it doesn't run on the old Pi, but it does run on the Pi2, with this image, so there must be a full version of OpenGL available for ARM7. One more reason not to maintain strict backward compatibility with the original pi.

Can I suggest you try the latest version? It comes with a GUI desktop installed, which sounds like it'll be a lot easier for you to use than the command line, if you're new to Raspberry Pi.

Hey all,
I've been trying to get this[1] to work. For the most part, I think it's good to go, but I'm having the hardest time getting the tiny Edimax EW 7811un wireless adapter to work. I know that this is not directly related to this thread - but was wondering if these newer updates to the image will potentially fix my issue.
If anyone's interested in helping me solve the driver issue, I would really appreciate the help.

Running even better for me with the User Data and Cache directories moved to a (fast) USB flash drive - also saves wear on the MicroSD...

to your /etc/chromium-browser/default Chromium config file (obviously change "target" to a USB drive mount point directory...)

inserted wifi dongle, it is not recognized by wpa_gui (worked fine with Raspbian)
Inserted netwotk dongle, still no internet access.

Does it work if you download a copy of plain Raspbian on another SDCard and boot that?
What does an lsusb # ell, ess, you, ess, bee command show with the wifi plugged in?

I am trying to run an OpenVPN server on this distribution, but am unable to.
I have tried it (Access Server) on Ubuntu 14.10 with a regular laptop (Intel) and it works fine there.

I have used http://www.huubmons.nl/multimedia/raspb ... pi-openvpn as my manual for install on my Rasperry Pi 2.

Am I missing something?
Any help would be appreciated.

Does anybody have a working install of OpenVPN the Linaro-image?
If so: Which manual did you follow and were there any exceptions?

I have same issue getting an usb wifi dongle to be recognized by wlan0

Some people have problems with wifi..
Please try this configuration:

Edit with root

/etc/network/interfaces
and modify wlan0 to this:

allow-hotplug wlan0
iface wlan0 inet dhcp
wpa-conf /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf
auto wlan0

Edit with root

/etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf

ctrl_interface=/var/run/wpa_supplicant
ctrl_interface_group=1000
update_config=1

Reboot.... and the wpa_gui work...

You can use sudo and I'm pretty sure it won't even ask you for a password. If it does, it's your account password.
The linaro image is a little diy so at least for me I had to install wpa-supplicant and change interfaces and wpa_supplicant.conf.

Thank you I used finally easy way by typing to xterminal "sudo leafpad" and then simply modified the configuration files. Now the wifi usb works great.

Now on to get ham radio programs working.

I've been looking at your "distro" for a couple of days. Great job on rolling this out.

I would like to extend the work you have done to include various embedded capabilities. Is the build environment you used available ? It would save me a lot of work and I'm willing post various upstream updates for others to use.
