jbit micro dist (8MB SD) - a 6502-based C development env.

Sat Oct 26, 2013 4:26 pm

I've tested it on a 32 MB SD card, but it should fit on a 8 MB card.

You shouldn't need any special tools to burn it. Just format a small SD card as FAT and unzip the content of this archive:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/jbit/fi ... p/download

It's just a first preview and it's not complete yet (e.g. no non-US keymaps are included), but it should be usable.

It's based on jbit and cc65. I've used rpi-buildroot to build the ramdisk and I've taken the firmware/config from berryboot.

EDIT: Final version (2.0.0) released. Link updated.

I've tested it and changed it a bit and now I consider the updated version a "release candidate". I plan to release it with jbit 2.0.0 (I guess in one/two weeks time). If you try it, please let me know if you have any problems.

Changes:
- nano editor (in addition to busybox version of vi)
- some keymaps
- larger font (good for composite TV)
- smaller "cd" firmware
- store (for persistent files)
- better test program (testsys.c in the store; fork, pipe, exec, etc...)

Info on how to use it is here:

/var/store does not exist when I run the SD-card in Raspberry Pi. I use a 256MB SD-card.

I could compile and run hello.

As it is now it's hardly useful since I can't store programs.

Sorry for the long delay in replying. I've just logged in github/here after a few months and I've just noticed your problem.

If you're still here and up for some some troubleshooting, see https://github.com/efornara/jbit/issues/1.
