BerryBoot remote login

Wed Feb 27, 2013 9:16 pm

Hi. I've been trying to setup a raspberry pi headless using Berryboot. I've followed the instructions to setup the VNC server, however when I try and login using tightVNC, it says that connections have been actively refused. It's a free IP adress, and I've pinged it and it responds. The slight difference between this and a normal network setup is that it's connecting through my PC's network card, but this worked OK in a previous installation. Anyone any ideas?

Insert your SDCard into your Windows/Linux/Mac OSX PC/Laptop and look for a file called cmdline.txt. Open that file and add the following line.

For ethernet use:

vncinstall ipv4=(IP)/(NETMASK)/(GATEWAY)

for example

vncinstall ipv4=192.168.0.1/255.255.255.0/192.168.0.254

for Wireless its the same but with a ending like this

vncinstall ipv4=(IP)/(NETMASK)/(GATEWAY)/wlan0

for example

vncinstall ipv4=192.168.0.1/255.255.255.0/192.168.0.254/wlan0

After you have added that line simply save and insert the SDCard back into the and reboot.

Its also a good bet to set in cmdline.txt bootmenutimeout=10 to something like 30 to insure you connect in time.

I have a problem, I can not connect my BerryBoot through VNC, the ip is assigned correctly, the problem is that when entering the ip VNC, tells me that the connection was refused :?: :?: :?: :?:
