I am using Ubuntu Linux. I am trying to resize the partition /dev/sdb2 labled
rootfs. Currently the partition size is 7.36 and the used size is 4.84GB.
I am trying to reduce the size of Raspbian named the second partition
I have tried to resize using gparted, which fails gparted runs the command
resize2fs -p /dev/sdb2 5224448K the error returned is
resize2fs: New size smaller that minimum (1683211) -- this differs from the Min
size given the the Resize/Move window.
I also have attempt a procedure (file name is template-iso-022019):
>fdisk -l template-iso-022019.img
Disk template-iso-022019.img: 7.4 GiB, 7948206080 bytes, 15523840 sectors
Units: sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
Disklabel type: dos
Disk identifier: 0xe8bf8b42
Device Boot Start End Sectors Size Id Type
template-iso-022019.img1 8192 96663 88472 43.2M c W95 FAT32 (LBA)
template-iso-022019.img2 98304 15523839 15425536 7.4G 83 Linux
>losetup /dev/loop0 template-iso-022019.img -o $((98304*512))
Change size with gparted to 5394432
received the error
resize2fs New size is smaller than Minimum (1683211)
note 1683211 * 4 is 6,732,844 which is samller but not
smaller enough. Ideally I would like image size plus 20M.
I'm clearly missing something, can anyone enlighten me. Thanks in advance.
