Adding images to SD with Noobs

Is it possible to add additional OS images to NOOBS SD on the pi you're using? For instance, I am currently using Raspberian and I have downloaded the Ubuntu-mate iso what I'd like to do is add it Directly to the images on NOOBS so that if i were to restart the pi and enter the NOOBS GUI I could choose to install ubuntu-mate.

Or do I have to take the SD out and add it using my laptop or use a SD card reader with another SD plugged into the pi?

I think this is the right spot for this question, is there a more appropriate Forum for this kind of question?

NoobS is an installer / chooser and it is not feasible to add additional Operating Systems after you have run initial set up.....

.....to add additional Operating Systems you have to start afresh which will overwrite your existing Raspbian install:
