AROS, Status?

Sun Oct 23, 2016 8:20 pm

Ok what is the status of AROS native boot for the Raspberry Pi?

I like that we now have Puppy Linux for when I have to use something other than RISC OS, though I would much rather have AROS native on the Raspberry Pi 3B.

My operating systems have been mostly RISC OS and Amiga OS/AROS since the late 1980's. It seems that what RISC OS is lacking AROS has, and what AROS is lacking RISC OS has.

So what is the status of native booting AROS on the Raspberry Pi?

The AROS site does not list any news on this port, neither does AROS-Exec, or any of the other news thread sites for AROS.

I am not an HLL Programmer, as has been direclty shown recently, I am an assembly language and BASIC programmer. Both RISC OS and AROS make assembly simple. And I know Amiga well, as well as I know RISC OS.

Thus I do ask; what is the status for the AROS that natively boots on the Raspberry Pi?

I think I found my answer:

Still no DWC USB support in AROS.

This is very surprising, especially as we have the USPI bare metal driver and a few others as well.
