Wed Sep 14, 2016 4:37 pm

BeePI is bootable SD-Card IMG for RPi3 (and BeeKey PC/MAC) which will makes from your RPi3 - 350MHz, CPU 68040 Atari compatible with Atari STE (on PC 2GHz Atari to 7GHz depends on CPU).
It is based on Linux+Aranym+Hatari... It is something like AROS Amiga OS.

Tried it, as Atari TOS has always been my second favorite OS.

Unfortunately I could not get networking going despite following instruction and making sure that the two IP's required were not used on my network (and not assignable via the DHCP server). Even went as far as setting static IP's in RISC OS for those two IP's and it worked there with no trouble at all.
The Raspberry Pi is an ARM computer, that runs many Operating Systems, including Linux, RISC OS, BSD, Pi64, CP/M as well as many more.
Soon to add AROS to the list of operating systems.

I have tried it too, and I am quite impressed. My original Atari ST doesn't have network either, so I don't miss that. And I have only tried MIDI programs in Hatari. MIDI works better than in Hatari run in Raspbian. Hatari runs a lot faster here, and is compatible with more MIDI programs. So I will continue using BeePi.

That's rather nice. Good to see the FS-UAE JIT on ARM put to good use. If only Mac emulation were in the same place ...
