The forum formatting is borked but it doesn't matter because Android discussions moved to https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/android-rpi

Change the My Board Style to 'prosilver' makes it easier to navigate / read.

wait. so you kicked everyone out who wants to talk about the subject of raspberry pi and android?
oh no they just cant talk about that extremely touchy subject here. we have to go make a new forum..
does a forum thread really take up that much space/bandwidth on a webserver .
taking up moderators time ? could have just offered moderator positions for said thread. 43 mods.. whats a couple more just for 1 thread ?

heres a thought. instead of drowning everyone in tears about the thread being locked and how nobody cares blah blah blah (which in itself is dumb, considering the fact that people keep freakin' asking.) how bout. someone just write up an updated article, stating that either ANDROID AND PI WILL NEVER HAPPEN!!!!! or better yet. how bout you shoot Eric Anholt an email and ask him how his work is going. i mean hey it has been just over a year now since he moved to broadcom http://anholt.livejournal.com/44239.html

point is android works on pi (obviously only pi2) the only thing holding it back is the videocore drivers which as above are being worked on. and hey someone is already trying to turn a buck from running android on the raspberry pi even without the vc4 drivers. but people are still paying $9 a download to copy the file from this guy. just google RaspAND and RaspEX to read up on the dodgy yourself.

NEVER judge the user base by the forum. few people actually post to forums. hell i only created an account because i needed help with a piece of custom software (that i never got help with lol)

now on to topic specifically.


forum page does not display by default. its bugged and needs to be looked at. just because the forum is locked does not mean the page shouldnt be fixed so that any info displayed can still be easily read by whoever wishes to read it.DUUUHHH

and its already been locked. but this one hasnt been ? lol above post is 2 days old already been locked. this thread is from may and has gone ignored.

The reason that the forum was locked was that it was wasting a lot of moderator time - both in answering posts that continually asked the same question, or with explaining why Android was not on the way, or dealing with complaints about the number of pointless Android posts.

The Raspberry Pi Foundation is NOT working on an Android port, so it seemed unnecessary to waste mod time on a forum talking about it.

Eric's work is not being done to enable Android.

The mods are currently trying to get the formatting sorted out, but that requires some work and the Foundation web people are pretty busy at the moment, and have been for some time.
