I used a MacBook Pro with 10.8.2 and a built-in SD slot to create a RISCOS SD using the following commands. I erased the SD first, but probably not necessary
$
$ sudo dd if=ro519-rc6-1876M.img of=/dev/disk1 bs=1m

$ diskutil umountDisk disk1
Unmount of all volumes on disk1 was successful
$ sudo dd if=ro519-rc6-1876M.img of=/dev/disk1 bs=1m
