Arch reduce display size

I am newbie to Arch & Pi board, I am trying to get my board doing some GPIO functionality but seem to have a long way to get it up and running.

My first problem is plugging the Pi into the TV, is the display is too big for the TV i.e. the text is too far to the left and bottom.

How can I reduce/change the screen size to support my TV?

Here's the settings in /boot/config.txt that work on my install. YMMV.

sdtv_mode=2
sdtv_aspect=3
disable_overscan=1
overscan_left=38
overscan_right=20
oversacn_top=25
overscan_bottom=20

Have a mess about with the overscan values, try increments of 5 initially, then just tweak from there.
