mkinitcpio kills the system

Wed Jun 20, 2012 6:46 am

just got my Raspberry Pi and after debian was slow I installed arch. During the system update I was told to add the usr hook and to run mkinitcpio. There was to preset for mkinitcpio so I just ran

Code: Select all

$ mkinitcpio -g /boot/kernel.img
After that the Rasperry Pi does not start any more. Only the PWR Led lights up. I read somewhere in the foum that you only do mkinitcpio on x86 Systems but how else are you supposed to add hooks?
It would be great if I could learn from the mistake I just made but I really could not find anything about mkinitcpio on avr linux distributions.

The exact same thing happened after I added the keymap hook and tried to generate a new kernel image with mkinitcpio. The system just stopped booting.

Did you manage to figure this out?

Return to “Arch”
