Very slow booting

Sun Jun 10, 2012 9:59 pm

Hello everybody,

I've been using Arch on my laptop for 3 years now, I want to use it on my new Pi.

I download the last img file on the download page, I use dd to install it on my SD.

But when I start the Pi, on my HD TV, I only see the logo, and after some time the first line of the boot. Last time, It works until the "Network line".
I've test the Pi with Raspbmc, and it's good.

Do you have any idea where this bug come from ?

Thank You :D

Your SD card.

I bought a new SD brand Ultra @30MB/s class 10, and my boot times DRAMATICALLY increased.

I would say its your sd card, but it might be the drink talking?

Indeed, it was the new SDHC card 30Mb/s class 6. The drink was right.

Thank for your help .

Hit or miss with cards, I got a Transcend 64Gb class 10 sdxc that works fine. I manually created and formatted partitions and grafted on roofs though.

Return to “Arch”
