I've prepared an sd card image with Arch set up with a graphical desktop installed.
You can download the image here.

The sha1sum for the (extracted) .img file is:
7cf77ee91a6208604adc011c1d4bbb5b45654648 arch.img

Instructions and notes are available here.

It has iw, wireless_tools and wpa supplicant. The wiki tells you how to set it up, or you could use a tool like wicd.

Well this is an up-to-date image. It has all the wireless things you need.
Have a look at this page on the wiki.
Basically these commands got it working for me (my network has WPA2 security, so I use wpa_supplicant. Click here for the wiki page.

Code: Select all

ip link set wlan0 up

Code: Select all

wpa_passphrase "mywireless_ssid" "secretpassphrase"

Code: Select all

wpa_passphrase mywireless_ssid "secretpassphrase" >> /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf

Code: Select all

wpa_supplicant -B -Dwext -i wlan0 -c /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf

Code: Select all

dhcpcd wlan0
It will be different if you are using a different network security, but it should work!
