How to login to Arch

I decided to give Arch a try and after reading discouraging posts about Pi3B+ support from the Arch site, downloaded the following https://extonlinux.wordpress.com/2018/0 ... n-windows/

The site gave itself a glowing review, and I have flashed a SD Card. I had some initial misgivings (ttyAMA0 is assigned to console, despite being connected to Bluetooth).

I am now presented with a screen (in microscopic type) inviting me to login - I can find NO DOCUMENTATION and tried the usual suspects without success.

Any hints???

I tried root/root which works (why this was not linked to the page above is a mystery)

for some reason the the image had

Code: Select all

framebuffer_width=1920
framebuffer_height=1080
commenting these out restored normal display.

IIRC in the past Arch used root / root as the default.
May be different for your image, though

To confirm, with documentation, what @DirkS suggests -

From http://raspex.exton.se/?p=859 (which you can find by using the Read More... link at the foot of the blog page you have cited) -
Login and passwords
Login as root with password root. Run the command startx to enter the LXDE Desktop.

Thanks. I did follow this link, but it was mainly a lot of waffle about Windows.
