Occasionally kernel panic on reboot

Occasionally (maybe 1 out of 10 times), when I reboot my RPi3, I get a kernel panic. It can be fixed by power cycling, but the root cause of the problem is what I would like to identify. Unfortunately, systemd does not write anything to the log/it's as if the boot up never happened. I am only able to capture what I see in a pic and unfortunately, it's not all of the kernel panic. I did find this thread in which some are thinking the micro SD might be to blame but in my case, the system functions totally fine when it does boot, and the panics are sporadic in nature.

Thanks for any insights.

Hardware: Raspberry Pi 3.
OS: Arch ARM running ARMv7h (not the 64-bit aarch64 kernel).

Googling this, it does seem like others are experiencing it. Some suggest that the SD card (media) is to blame. To test that, I swapped out the micro SD card from a RPi3 I have that has never experienced the issue into the one I posted about. I can say that it did give another panic with the media from the "good" box. I can only conclude from this that the media is not to blame. I have yet to find a place to begin troubleshooting.

Can u tryout a 6-12 months old Jessie-img, just to see if it produces the same errors?

No, I use Arch ARM and don't want to change. Out of 7 RPi3 boxes running Arch ARM, this is the only one exhibiting the problem..

I have the same problem and found that reducing the cpu clock to 500Mhz seems to solve it.
I suspect it could be a power supply issue.

He did not suggest you switched permanently to jessie, just that you use (another sd-card with) jessie to see if jessie does the same, to debug the problem... :)
