Fedora 26 on Raspberry Pi

Tue Oct 10, 2017 2:55 pm

This may well not be a new topic!
I have used Fedora 23 on an older Rpi quite usefully (given the old processor) and I recently obtained the latest Rpi .
I set up Raspbian and it works fine so I bought a 32Gb SD and installed Fedora 26. BUT it is so slow as to be unusable. After a short time
it packs up altogether in the sense that it no longer responds to the keyboard or mouse - I think that is possibly because some queue of
desperate clicks and keyboard strokes is full!

One thing that I have noticed about the difference between Fedora and Raspbian is on startup. Both of them show the screenfuls of individual
process startups but during this process that small green LED next to the 'power on' red light does not do its fast twinkling in the Fedora case but
it does on the Raspbian case. I should say that both the SDs used are the same spec. from Amazon (not ebay!).

Does anyone have any ideas apart from suggesting that I just use Raspbian? After all real men use Fedora don't they?

Check that the file system is being expanded to use the whole card?

Code: Select all

df -h

Return to “Pidora / Fedora”
