screen settings

Mon Jun 25, 2012 12:20 pm

Hi guys,

I have a few questions.

(1) i flashed the debian image on an SD card and was able to boot debian succesfully on my plasma. My plasma is a 1080p model and I believe the max resolution to be 1920 x 1080. Once I type startx I am taken to the gui squeeze screen. The screen fit on the plasma is perfect, but soon after some adjustmnets take place and the size of the screen is altered i.e. I lose the top and bottom borders. Tried to adjust this in debian screen settings but only 2 resolutions are available including auto and another one. Any ideas ?

(2) Also, can I use a HDMI to DVI adaptor to a monitor. Heard some mixed reports on this ?

many thanks

Many thanks for that. I am learning hence the numerous questions. So basically I need to set disable_overscan=0 ?

Also, I noticed some HDMI settings.if I set hdmi_drive= 2 that means that sound will be sent via the hdmi cable ?

thanks once again
