Kernel headers

Mon May 28, 2012 9:43 am

I'd like to build a webcam driver with module-assistant but it seems apt-get can't download the linux-headers-3.1.9 required to compile it. Any ideas, workarounds, tips? Thanks.

I assume you have installed the following package

sudo apt-get install build-essential

before downloading and compiling

build-essential is not enough. I'm trying to build a realtek wi-fi driver and it needs to kernel-headers to build against. I'm going to have another go at it tonight.....

I've had no luck with anything so far. I found this post http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewt ... =28&t=5700 and I'll try to cross compile the entire kernel with additional drivers when I have time.
