Need some help with graphics acceleration

Wed Nov 16, 2016 2:36 am

Rpi3(b).
Built a Debian (stable) image.
Upgraded to testing... even added unstable repositories.
Did all upgrades and dist-upgrades.
recompiled "fbturbo" driver for accelerated graphics.
Have "compton" composite manager installed.

Graphics are accelerated, BUT video is painfully slow!
Any ideas? What info can I provide to get some help with this issue?
Seems like video should be accelerated as well, but it's not. How does Raspbian accomplish it?
Finally, I am trying to run Kodi. That's the reason for accelerated graphics.
I am very familiar with Linux, but I just don't know all the files that need to be installed to produce good quality video?

as Anholt recommend use compton, but does it need setup(start systemd)?
and, compton & fbturbo are different usage, right?

Your browser needs complex modifications to support the Pi GPU.
I believe the Foundation has already started some work
in that direction for Chromium , which might be useful.

Epiphany is another browser the foundation already has
modified to accelerate video on the Pi - with mixed results. :(

Furthermore Mr. Anholt currrently only focuses on 3D
acceleration and video acceleration is completely broken
with the new driver. He wants to fix this , but it
seem obvious that completing the 3D parts has higher priority.
