Debian Jesse freezes at gui

Sun Mar 08, 2015 2:37 pm

Hi all

First time using a rPi. I have purchased the recently released model 2.

Using the rpi2strap created by c0d3z3r0 I successfully booted in a terminal system as root.

I tried installing a few desktop environments (mate, xfce, lxde) with lightdm and xorg. They all boot up to the login screen but then the mouse and keyboard freeze and the system is unresponsive except to alt-sys rq-*.

I've reviewed log files but haven't seen anything relevant. Any ideas?

Let me know if there is any further information I can provide to help work out what's wrong? At the weekend I'll try a different display manager and see if that makes a difference.

It's working now.

I had to make some changes to c0d3z3r0's script where he had hardcoded paths that didn't match my system.

Return to “Debian”
