RPi2 + Debian + Spotify

Tue Feb 24, 2015 4:01 pm

Hi
I think and hope I get the new RPi2 tomorrow but I have to ask this first.

To run the "real" spotify I have to use Debian (I think, I know ubuntu) or use play.spotify.com that need flash

Raspian does not support Spotify or flash so I have to use something else.
Have even think about use Android but I like Debian/Ubuntu more.

But I have read somewhere that Debian does not support (not yet, maybe not ever) the whole capacity of the new RPi2 so I'm not sure yet what I can do.

The unsupported Linux Clients for Debian/Ubuntu are for x86 architecture, not the ARMv7 of the RPi afaiaa

All of the audio-related OS that run on Rpi, like PiMusicBox etc can play spotify. Unless, with "real spotify" you mean that you want to use accounts that are not premium

I'm fairly sure pepperflash will run play.spotify.com. It runs iplayer for me on a b2.

You can run Spotify client using ExaGear Desktop emulator.

Here the link on step-by-step instruction
