New Block Coding Tool for the Pi

Fri Jun 30, 2017 5:58 pm

Hi Folks,

Wanted to let you know about a new tool I created to use with students in our summer program. It's block based and tries to include lots of the features of the Pi. It creates Python code. The programming can be done on the Pi directly or from any other web-enabled device if you are running headless.

There's LOTS of blocks to control Minecraft as well as blocks to do GPIO, email, and file I/O.

Have a look and let me know what you think.

Note that you have to install the server component on your pi before it will work (sudo pip install piforge)

Once you install the server component on your pi, how to you start the program on the pi. Also, when I'm on the web interface (https://iforge.genlrn.com/rpi.html) and I type in my ip address, how do I know I'm actually connected to our pi?
