Re: This might be useful for a programming club ...

It's a remastered version of Puppy Linux that has Python 3 and Pygame ready-installed. Geany is the default text editor / IDE.

On the forum thread I'm linking to you'll also find some other packages I've compiled for this system (eg Scratch, Ruby, Lua).

The live CD also has some useful programming tutorials in My Documents.

More recent version of RacyPy is here.

I"ve also made a .pet of Joe"s Own Editor (as used by Eben in his webinar), for those using Puppy Linux.

Is this LiveCD for 32-bit x86 processors?

Yes - it's based on Racy Puppy, but I've installed Python 2.7.2 and 3.1.4 with Pygame (and jdk 7).

Just had a quick look at the LiveCD - looks quite useful as a quick way to get Python, Pygame and everything bundled up and ready to use.

Thanks Jaseman

I think it would help people who weren't sure how to install stuff in Linux.

By the way - did you get my email. I sent a .zip file of my article and the images.

cheers,

Yes I did get it - Wow! looks great from the screenshots and the accompanying document.  I haven't had a chance to study it in detail yet.  I think we can split these programs up across several magazine issues.
