Hi All,

I am trying to facilitate the use of Raspberry pi computers without a tremendous amount of expertise myself. I have worked through some of the activities on the resource page and noticed some of definitely easier for a first time Pi user than others. I would appreciate some suggestions concerning which activities would be best explored on day 1 after getting through getting everything up and running.

It partly depends on who your audience is. I'm going to assume that we're talking about KS2/KS3 students.

The first thing I do with students new to the Pi is just to let them explore the ready-installed software. I give them 5-10 minutes.

Once you've managed to get them all to stop playing Minecraft, I would suggest that you look at some of the following: ... th-scratch ... h-node-red ... -computing

Which one you choose first would really depend on the age and experience of the students.

After they've got their hands dirty with some of the basics, you may be best just to let them decide what direction they want to take next, but some suggestions would be: ... gic-8-ball ... h-sonic-pi ... ction-game

and if they've really behaved themselves; ... necraft-pi

Hope that is of some help.
