Raspberry Pi and a webcam

Sat Aug 05, 2017 11:10 pm

Hey everyone, I have a question I hope I can get some help on. I am a teacher and have just set up a saltwater touch tank in my classroom. I have a raspberry pi and water proof USB webcam and a monitor. I would like to have the monitor showing a live feed inside the touch tank. and I need this to work without a connection to the internet. I can have it connected to set it all up of course.

I have tried Motioneye and it works, but I need to be connected to the internet. Any suggestions?

I am not sure why you need to be connected to the internet? I assume you have everything local, eg same room, can you not run an hdmi cable from your pi to your monitor? Then just open motioneye via the user account, instead of admin, and open the feed as full screen.

Hmm what about using Kodi? I think that could work. I'm not 100% sure how to answer the question, but this has some useful info about rasp pi that I hope could help :)
