Zigbee USB dongle recommendation?

Sun Jan 07, 2018 8:44 pm

Hi Raspberry enthusiasts,

I am looking for a Zigbee interface for the Raspberry Pi to connect to my Philips Hue lights and Osram Lightify switches.

I know that there are GPIO solutions available, but I would prefer a USB solution to be more flexible in the future. Who knows if the Raspberry 4 still has a 40 pin GPIO port.

The ConBee - ZigBee USB Stick for 50 Euro seems expensive, compared to some of the 10 Euro Zigbee USB sticks from Asia (CC2530, CC2531).

Is there any recommendation which brand or chip to use? Which ones work best with Linux?

Thanks
