Compatible USB pen drives

Sat Dec 23, 2017 12:08 am

Hello all!

I'm new with the raspberry and I wonder whether I could connect any USB pen drive to the Raspberry Pi 3 model B...
Is there any compatibility list?
Is there any problem with power supply?
Any difference between USB 2.0/3.0?

Thanks in advance!

Most pendrives should work well. They usually require very little power and are usually backwards compability.
There would be impossible to maintain a list of working or non-working memsticks because there are just too many types of them.

What matter most is probably what filesystem the pendrive/memstick was formatted with.

+1, however, FWIW, these are the ones "I know about":

Trev.
Usually running Raspbian Jessie on up to 9 of 13 Pi's (an A, B1, B2, B+, P2B, 3xP0, P0W) and Stretch on my P3B, B+, A+ and a B2. See: https://www.cpmspectrepi.uk/raspberry_pi/raspiidx.htm
