interfacing mouse and keyboard

Sun Jun 04, 2017 11:59 am

I want to purchase a mouse and keyboard for a Raspberry Pi 3 with Debian OS.
Should I buy a Bluetooth device or one with a usb/wifi dongle?

From my experiences, in order of preference/cost/ease of use:
Wired USB devices (cheap & cheerful, all should work)
Wireless Dongle based (Most work fine)
Bluetooth (Good-sized ones can be pricey and some keyboards have been known to lose connectivity. Mice seem to be more reliable.)
In all cases avoid extra-bells/whistles/gaming-features (unless you really need such) since that increases power (battery) usage and the purchase cost.
Trev.
Still running Raspbian Jessie on some older Pi's (an A, B1, B2, B+, P2B, 3xP0, P0W) but Stretch on my P3B+, P3B, B+, A+ and a B2. See: https://www.cpmspectrepi.uk/raspberry_pi/raspiidx.htm
