Microsoft Mobile Mouse 3600 known to work okay with RPi3?

Tue May 16, 2017 1:58 am

G'day fellow raspbians!

Can anyone confirm the Microsoft Mobile Mouse 3600 works okay with the Raspberry Pi 3 B running full Raspbian with Pixel? I ask as I can buy one cheap, but returning in this instance would be nearly as costly to me as the purchase price (the seller insists upon tracked courier returns).

TIA :-)

I suggest that you do not order this mouse as it will very unlikely work with the Raspberry.
This mouse uses BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and I seem to remember that I was unable to connect my Logitech MX Anywhere 2 using Bluetooth to the Pi.
If you are interested in a (low cost) Bluetooth Mouse I would suggest Logitech M557.

I thought the latest Raspbian had Bluez already installed, and that enabled BT low energy?

I just now installed the latest release, followed by update & upgrade.
I can pair the Logitech MX Anywhere 2 but it gives an error message that no services are available and the mouse does not work.

With a Pi 3 or dongle that supports BT 4.0?

My MX Anywhere 2 mouse works in Raspbian Jessie using Bluetooth, but I have to use Blueman to connect it instead of the custom PIXEL LXPanel plugin.

Ah, well using the other BT tools available if need be, is no trouble :-) So long as it does work, that's fine by me.
