USB hub drivers?

Thu May 24, 2018 9:55 pm

Hi!

Does anybody know of any
USB hub drivers I could download
for my computer with a ORICO 7-port
USB hub? It only works with one peripheral
other than USB drives... Is there a way to fix
this problem? :?

Thanks,
Boomonster :D

Your Raspberry Pi computer probably needs to give it more power, which it can't. Buy an external power adaptor for it.

Is it a USB-3 hub? If I remember rightly some USB-3 hubs don't play nicely with the RPi.

You shouldn't need drivers other than the OS's generic ones as hubs are supposed to conform to the standard. Only time you should need extra drivers would be if the hub has extra features like built in ethernet ports which the RPi hub has (not zeros as they don't have a hub). But even then those extras should be presented as devices connected to the hub.

Typically 7 port hubs are really two cascaded 4 port hubs, I take it you tried all the ports just incase there's a problem with connecting through 3 hubs (though theoretically there shouldn't be).
