Wlan disconnects if load on eth0 occure (Ethercat)

Sat Aug 09, 2014 5:35 am

Hi,
there is a problem with Pi B+ and Wlan / Wifi connected to USB (this scenario works well with model B Pi)
Use case:
Ethernet port is connected to Ethercat (would think this happen too on high load with two eth0 and wlan0 connections - to be proved) wlano0 is connected for example with EDIMAX or any other wlan device.
As soon we start the standard eth0 wired nic to communicate, the wifi communication immediately stops / led on the stick went off
Unplug / replug solves the problem but this is not a solution as soon we start the communication on eth0 again wifi disconnects again.
Anyone has an Idea?
Is there the possibility as in the old chip to give options in the /boot/cmdline.txt ?
smsc95xx.turbo_mode=N
What should we investigate when wifi get disconnected ?
What do I need to check?

The Ethernet and USB Ports are on the same Bus, therefore could be a power issue ? The B+ has a different internal power circuitry than the B !

What is the rating of the PSU are you using ?

I had the same happening on my B (non-plus). For me it turned out to be ifplugd.

Hi
May I ask what your solution was for your problem: "For me it turned out to be ifplugd."?

ifplugd will switch to what it considers to be the "preferred" interface when a link is detected. Thus it will enable eth0 if a cable is connected and disable wifi as wired is (usually) faster than wireless network.

Hi,
for me the solution I found here:
http://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/qu ... d-ethernet
now starting of ethercat communication with CODESYS does not switch off wlan0 communication.
For me this is solved.
Thanks for point me to ifplugd.
