The 3V3 comes from a voltage regulator on the Gertboard.
That needs 5V from the Raspberry-Pi:
Connect Pin 2 and/or 4 (both have 5V) to either (or both) pins of J24.

Thanks gert but i think i didnt address my question properly

i still have the regulated 3v3 runnign from pin 2 going to J24

what i lost is direct from RasPi Pin 1 3v3 which powers the onboard 3v3 points directly from pi

what i noticed from doing a few conectivity tests is I could connect pin 1 to header J7 middle pin and that then seems to redistribte the 3v3 back again

would that be a good idea

I will see when I have time to generate a track picture and post it.
At the moment I am having major issues with SCRIBD where I can't post new
documents for unknown reasons but also that they do not reply on my (multiple) requests for help
for the last two weeks!!!!
I am now contemplating taking all my data down from their site and use somebody different.

If I forget, Just keep prodding me about this, I don't mind.

thanks gert

:)

although now im gonna use this patched up one as a dev board and really grind into it and gonna buy a new one for delicate work :) hehe

hope your getting royalty for each sale of the gerboard

one thing can i suggest for a possible version 3

to have a stacker conenctor so it can be connected direct from bottom or plugged into cable at top

or even give the user the choice by leaving teh connector for the end user to solder in

thanks

I second the motion. :) I suppose that in order to maintain for everyone the usefulness right out of the box, the stacker connector would be the best option.
