PiJuice Zero Battery Compatibility

Wed Jan 08, 2020 6:27 pm

Hi All,

I'm working on a project that will use a Raspberry Pi Zero, and I would like to provide at least 5000 mAh of battery backup (preferably 10000 mAh). Is it possible to use the PiJuice Zero with a 5000 mAh LiPo battery or larger? The largest I can find that is recommended is 1200 mAh.

Thanks

Buck converter

Hello Allen,

You can use a Lipo battery of higher mAh(10000 mAh) just you will need to put a step-down converter(buck converter) with 3A max output. And it should give 5V DC 3A output constant and it will work fine with your raspberry pi zero.

The above will be suitable for your application.

You can use:

PiJuice 5000mAh battery - https://uk.pi-supply.com/products/pijui ... ah-battery
PiJuice 12000mAh battery - https://uk.pi-supply.com/products/pijui ... ah-battery

They are all compatible with PiJuice Zero as well and include the correct connector!
