Alternative to PiTFT+?

Fri Jun 29, 2018 2:47 pm

Afternoon all.
Is there a good alternative to the PiTFT+ that dosent use gpio's as I'd like to use the pins for other things?

Ideally it would also be able to fixed to a case just like the pibow arrangement

Thanks in advance

I have also wondered this. Or do I have to basically dedicate a pi to UI, the have it communicate with another that does all the gpio stuff?

Depends on how many GPIO pins you need. Typical PiTFT uses SPI0 (both channels) and a few general GPIO.

You can use GPIO expanders to get more GPIO.
Alternatively you could use a second Pi (e.g. using remote GPIO with pigpio)
