[solved] Huawei ME909s-821 recognized in ubuntu but not on raspberry

Tue Dec 12, 2017 1:22 pm

Hello guys,
I have bought Huawei ME909s-821 LTE modem but i have one problem to bind it to the network using raspberry.
to connect trough the network i need to execute the command udhcpc via a script to bind the interface shown of the modem in the command ifconfig to start a connection shortly.
In ubuntu when i link the modem via usb when i put ifconfig i got the result

Code: Select all

-XPS-15-9550:~$ ifconfig
enp0s20f0u2c2 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 02:1e:10:1f:00:00
          UP BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
          RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
          RX bytes:0 (0.0 B) TX bytes:0 (0.0 B)
which enp0s20f0u2c2 is the inteface of huawei modem
then i will type the following command to get the ip address

Code: Select all

XPS-15-9550:~$ sudo udhcpc -i enp0s20f0u2c2 -q

udhcpc (v1.22.1) started
Sending discover...
Sending select for 10.21.24.38...
Lease of 10.21.24.38 obtained, lease time 518400

but when i connect it to the raspberry i dont get any interface related to the modem via ifconfig just the usb ports

Code: Select all

Code: Select all

[email protected]:~ $ ls /dev/ttyUSB

but when i arrive to ifconfig here is the result

Hi,

Modem:- Huawei ME909s-921
Even if modeswitch not running why this device idProduct is changing on reboot.
Is it modem issue or usb driver issue?
Please suggest.
