2.4" Displays for Raspberry Pi Zero

Mon Sep 18, 2017 2:00 pm

Since im new to RPi's i thought it might be better to ask before buying a Display.
I'm looking for a 2.4" TFT Display and came across these two:

4DSystems 4DLCD-24QA: http://www.4dsystems.com.au/product/4DLCD_24QA/
Displaytech DT024CTFT: http://www.displaytech-us.com/2-4-inch-tft

Does anyone know if these Displays work with a Raspberry Pi?
Can I even get them to Display my Desktop?
Also let me know if you got recommendations for similar Displays.

Thanks in advance!

My preference would be the Displaytech display as it offers 18-bit RGB interface, so you can directly connect it to DPI interface of your RPI. Sure, you will need to design an adapter board.
Showing the desktop will be a pain in the but; it's nearly impossible to use on 480x272 (4.3in module), so even smaller on QVGA.

So what about one of these:

I know they are meant to be used with an arduino, but can they also work with a Pi (without a lot of extra work)?

All the screens that you have linked are basically the same type of screen an ili9341 302x200 but all of them aren't wired for direct plug and play with the RPi but wiht a little know how you can wire them up. If your not in the know of how to do this there is many of these little screens that you can buy as a traight plug and play option like these couple that I found with a quick google
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2-8-TFT-LCD- ... SwmrlUsPC1

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2-2-320x240- ... SwwrtZz6yD

And if you don't mind slightly bigger screen size then there is lots like this

The current RPi operating system has the needed drivers for these screens already installed. Check out thius discussion on this forum viewtopic.php?t=157618
