Hey guys would be interested to see the packaging from Farnell compared to the Tandy one. Also what do the switches look like. The ones from Tandy didn't quite fix correctly, they work but after a bit of a tinker

I've answered about the buttons in the assembly thread. :) Packaging was a lot larger on the Farnell kit, but the chip sockets are loose and some of the pins pushed through the bags. I don't think they're bent though. Haven't had a really good look yet.

I ordered mine on 08/08/12 at around 23:00 but mine is still marked as processing.

I haven't heard a whisper from Farnell either :?

Is the Farnell packaging small enough to fit through a letter box or will I have to trek to the sorting office?

Martyn.

Obviously you live in the UK. All other countries seem to have to wait MUCH longer to get Gertboards.

Anyone in the US received a shipping confirmation yet?

I ordered on Aug 8 2012 - Tentative Ship Date / Tracking on the item was supposed to be Sept 29th.

The order is still showing as back ordered for me.

Actually, that is not such a bad idea now that the UK and Eurozone economies are so bad. The AUD is very strong at the moment making Australia have one of the strongest economies in the world at the moment (No thanks to our good friend China, who buys all our coal.) If this was 5 years ago, it would have been a bad idea to move over there and then decide to come back. This happened to one of my friends who decided to move from this great country to yours. He then decided to move back to Australia because he missed being in such a GREAT country. He lost quite a lot on the exchange market.

Haven't ordered one yet. Don't have time to build one at the moment, too many other projects.
3rd RPi was ordered this morning and shipped tonight though.

That doesn't appear to be true - I live in clog country (aka The Netherlands), ordered on the 12th of August, and my Gertboard has been shipped today :-)

Then let me say the EU. People in Australia have not been told when their gertboards will arrive but I called E14 and they said it would be in late December. This is a bit off the "mid-September" that is still posted on the AU Element14 site.

It should be first ordered first served. That means I should have a Gertboard before the people who ordered on the 12th August. If I ordered at 5pm AEST on the 10th of August, then I should have it before the people in the EU who ordered anytime after 6:10am GMT 10th August.

You make it sound like it is a conspiracy on the people of Australia...

Farnell of Europe is not the same as Element14 of AU. That has more to do with your order than being first to order world wide. It only matters where you ordered from and that queue... Element14 of AU is part of the Premier Farnell Businesses... however they all have different warehouses, distribution, product streams...

Your question should be directed to Element14 AU (Asia-Pacific business as traded as element14) and ask them if they started shipping product ordered after you did to others in that queue. I'm guessing not. It is possible they don't yet even have the product yet. They certainly are not shipping to the UK or to the Netherlands or to other EU countries. You can see a map of where the do ship to however below...

If Element14 of AU doesn't have product yet, they obviously can't ship you one yet and it sounds like they answered your question about that already right?

Last time I checked, they were the same company using the different brand name (I think it is the same now), and shipping from the same warehouses (no mater what country you live in).

"A Premier Farnell Company". - On their website.

Anyway, I called the Australian Branch of this company who told me that the Gertboards should be delivered sometime in November to Australian customers.

1. Why can't a batch of Gertboards be sent to Australia's distribution point?
2. I ordered mine when the price was at $50AUD. Now the price has changed to $70.50 AUD. Will I have to pay extra now?

One other thing:
... but Gert and the guys at Farnell don’t anticipate any more delays in procuring parts, so any order should be fulfilled reasonably fast now.
Any-more delays?

Then mine should ship sometime this week. It is already overdue by 17 days.

I am from Germany and ordered last Friday from Tandy UK. Shipping costs were quite low and yesterday I received my kit! Farnell still gives 67 days delivery time on their page...

Thanks Tandy, big thumbs up for you!
