Part of touchscreen not working

This eleduino touchscreen moves the mouse click further left when I touch the very right edge (somewhere in the middle). That is, when I drag the stylus along the right edge, the cursor (or anything else) starts following the stylus' position at the bottom, but when it moves further up, the cursor draws a small arc around the center portion of the right edge. I suspect this may be because that's where the Ubeify play bar thing is and repeatedly touching that part would have damaged the resistive touschreen although I wonder if the cause could be something else? I've recalibrated the screen to no avail.

You should assume you have faulty hardware and should send it back to the vendor for a refund or replacement.
