Need an add-on, Buttons, LED's and GPIO

Fri Mar 11, 2016 5:58 pm

I am developing a controller, which uses 2 GPIO output pins (+GND). I would like to have an add-on which has a minimum of 2 buttons and a minimum of 2 LED's. As I say, I also need access to 2 GPIO pins.

The PiFace CAD would be ideal, but Mr Lawson, elsewhere on the forums, says you can't use GPIO with this.

I have also looked at the Adafruit RGB LCD and Keypad. On the site it says
Unfortunately, these LCDs do require quite a few digital pins, 6 to control the LCD and then another 3 to control the RGB backlight for a total of 9 pins. That’s nearly all the GPIO available on a Pi!'
The question is about the 'nearly' bit. Are there any GPIO programmable pins left?

If not, is there another add-on which would do?

Thanks,

CJ

PS. Forgot, it's for a Pi2.
