Installing touchscreen

Thu Jan 28, 2016 5:41 am

Hello,

I recently purchased this screen:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/111717376150?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT

It came with no instructions, only its stylus pen. I have tried following this installation guide: http://www.circuitbasics.com/setup-lcd- ... pberry-pi/

I'm running the latest Raspbian and I after the reboot part on step 3, the screen is gone. I get nothing on my HDMI monitor and plain white the touchscreen itself if I plug it in (obviously, since there are more steps before it works). On the HDMI attached monitor, it is all black, however I can see the little square with the rainbow like the pi's splash screen, but everything else is black.

I am assuming that my screen would be the "rpi-screen" noted in the guide at the very beginning. But since it is a generic one, I am not sure if it is supported so if anyone can point me to a better installation guide, I will appreciate it.

Help?

Ps,
Assuming I get it to work, will it work on the HDMI output later on or will it be stuck on the little screen foreva?

Thank you!

I have been trying to figure out the same thing. From what Ive heard that tutorial is out dated. You should follow notro's tutorial (I'll put a link) as the drivers are included with the new updates (just enter Sudo rpi-update to get it) I still haven't gotten mine working but I hope you do
