Gertboard with fluid pressure transmitter?

Fri Mar 06, 2015 2:45 am

I have a 1/4" NPT pressure transmitter I'd like to use to measure water pressure with my Raspi B+ and Gertboard. The only catch is that it is a 3-wire transmitter that requires 16-32VDC to operate and provides 0-10VDC on the output. Is there anyway to use this transmitter (perhaps by providing a separate supply voltage as the Gertboard obviously has only 5 and 3.3) and conditioning the 0-10VDC output to be received by the ADC of the Gertboard? (Voltage Divider?)
As an alternative, I also have a 4-20mA output pressure transmitter I could possibly use, but it also requires 9.6-32VDC to operate.

You can try to use the open collector outputs to drive the signals.
For reading back you will indeed need a voltage divider.
