Unicorn pHat - anyone have one?

Mon May 03, 2021 1:26 pm

Hi,

I'm just wondering if anyone has the Unicorn pHat for the RPI Zero and was willing to sell?

Mine has given up the chase now and has been used ongoing for a project with my kids who are just distraught it doesn't work anymore! Happy to pay for the item and postage if anyone has a spare or willing to part with theirs!

This was the item;

Thanks everyone

"Don't come to me with 'issues' for I don't know how to deal with those
Come to me with 'problems' and I'll help you find solutions"

Some people be like:
"Help me! Am drowning! But dont you dare touch me nor come near me!"

There is a Unicorn Mini that is 17x7 matrix of RGB LEDs. Same physical size as the pHat, just more LED's. Out of stock at the moment though.

I'm pretty sure you'd have to redo your code.

If you're in the Cambridge (UK) area, the Pi Store (the bricks and mortar one in the Grand Arcade) had a few of them on the shelves.

Was in there earlier and was quite surprised to see them there, as I too thought they'd been fully superceded by the mini.

This might be a long shot but I've heard from a few source the cause of the failure is the first LED in the line.

You can if you have the tools and skills remove it and put a jumper from the data in to the data out pads. If it works you can get a replacement LED.

Just a thought if they are a collector's item already it would be a shame for it to go onto the bin.

Good luck sorry in don't have one myself.
