2,8mm wire cable to RPi pins

Mon May 21, 2018 7:12 pm

Do cables like these exist?

I want to connect arcade buttons directly to a RPi.

Well your line

"2,8mm wire cable to RPi pins"

does not make much sense , are you saying you want to connect 2 x 8mm cables to pi gpio or that the switch has a 2.8mm connector ?

From what I have seen for sale in the way of arcade buttons, they normally have terminals for soldering wires to or a terminal that you can push a connector on to.

unless the supplier of the switch is also supplying cables for there connection to the pi gpio I very much doubt anyone else will, so you will probably have to make your own.

considering the pin-pitch of the raspberry PI GPIO port is just 2.54mm I don't see how you could solder 2.8mm thick wires to them, without shorting multiple pins together (this is not a serious reply).......

I would suggest you screw, or plug in, thinner wires to these buttons.... look at some female to male dupont wires.

I suspect some soldering is needed, or a crimp tool.
