RPI A+ usb supply control

Tue Nov 25, 2014 9:38 am

A while back, I found out that the RPI B+ can switch the supply to its USB ports, which the old B couldn't, meaning that USB peripherals are automatically power-cycled as the B+ reboots.

Now I saw that there is an upgrade to the A as well (A+).
Can the A+ switch its USB port supply as well?

No.
As well as missing the USB hub chip, it's missing the power control chip.
