pi-face no NO on Relais 1 ?

Tue Feb 04, 2014 2:56 pm

i use a pi-face for my garden watering (controlled via http)

i just today connected a 2nd valve to the first relais (output 0) and found out the relais do not switch the NO contact at all.
it stays always open.

if i trigger the output the relais on the pi-face does move .. and the NC contact will open .. but NO stays open.
is this somethings needed to be set up or is the board just faulty ?

(i never used output 0 before, just the output 1 which works just fine)

Sounds like a fault to me. You are testing between NO and common, not NC right? (Dumb question but best to make sure)

Bad connector, board or relay. Not many options other than that. 0 should function just like 1.

just to close this topic properly.

it turned out you are right. i contacted technical Support at element14 .. they decided then to send me another pi-face for a test. it turned out the first one was realy faulty.

great support indeed. i got a new pi-face in just 2 days (after discovering the issue) straight to my doorstep.
