Hello Guys,

i´m using 1Wire for my Raspberry Pi:

http://webshed.org/wiki/RaspberryPI_DS1820

Now i have a Question. Can i use the 1Wire for other Devices than an DS1820 Temperaturesensor on the same Way or is this way only for a DS1820.
I want to connect some other 1Wire Devices on my rPi but i don´t know if they got listed in the /sys/bus/w1/devices Folder.
Can somebody help me please :)

Thank you.
Greetings
Daniel

You can use lots of devices on 1-wire, the DS1820 sensor is probably the easiest though, as the sensor itself ‘talks’ the 1-wire protocol.
There is a DS2438 device, that while designed to be used a battery monitor will allow you to interface into different sensors. Your best bet is probably to look at using that. Oddly enough I’m in the middle of creating a pcb add on board for the pi to provide 1-wire support over RJ45.

Like this:

or this:

The first one connects to GPIO4 to use the kernel 1-Wire driver, the second is an I2C based master.
