Display and Camera

Sun Jan 12, 2020 6:25 pm

Hi,
I have a problem with the DSI and CSI Port:

If I connect a cam and the official 7" LCD to my pi 3. I only get the cam to work. If the cam isn't connected, the LCD works. So I tried a few things. The LCD is on another Power supply. Both have 5V/2A. Still no image. I want to try to integrate it with my 3d Printer and octoprint. Therefore I know the cam works and now I would love to have both working at the same time.

with the cam connected:
empty #empty[/code]

Code: Select all

dmesg | grep -i bcm2835-v4l2
[ 5.018548] bcm2835-v4l2: scene mode selected 0, was 0
[ 5.018918] bcm2835-v4l2: V4L2 device registered as video0 - stills mode > 1280x720
[ 5.024115] bcm2835-v4l2: Broadcom 2835 MMAL video capture ver 0.0.2 loaded.
without the camera:

Code: Select all

dmesg | grep -i ft5406
[ 4.222278] rpi-ft5406 rpi_ft5406: Probing device
[ 4.225094] input: FT5406 memory based driver as /devices/virtual/input/input0

and the raspi-gpio get shows differs in:

Code: Select all

GPIO 34: level=1 fsel=7 alt=3 func=SD1_CLK #without cam
GPIO 34: level=0 fsel=7 alt=3 func=SD1_CLK #with cam

GPIO 42: level=0 fsel=4 alt=0 func=GPCLK1 #without cam
GPIO 42: level=1 fsel=4 alt=0 func=GPCLK1 #with cam

GPIO 43: level=0 fsel=4 alt=0 func=GPCLK2 #without cam
GPIO 43: level=1 fsel=4 alt=0 func=GPCLK2 #with cam
I don't know what the problem might be and if I am in the right forum.
Thank you in advance

Code: Select all

cat /proc/device-tree/model
Raspberry Pi 3 Model B Rev 1.2

DSI and CSI should work out of the box on a standard Pi when camera is enabled (i.a. Via Raspberry Configuration).
So: which camera do you have?

Return to “Interfacing (DSI, CSI, I2C, etc.)”
