Using ESP32 as wifi+ble device for CM3

Thu Apr 12, 2018 8:50 am

I'm trying to use a ESP32 as the wifi+ble device for my raspberry pi compute module 3, communicating via UART, but I can't seem to get the pi to recognize my ESP32. I also tried the same method on an raspberry pi 3.

I connected the TX+RX pins with each other (tx with the rx in the other device), and I followed the instructions in this website https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentati ... on/uart.md .

in /boot/config.txt, i added

enable_uart=1
dtoverlay=pi3-miniuart-bt
dtoverlay=pi3-disable-bt
core_frequency=250

and in /boot/cmdline.txt, i removed console=serial0,115200

Eventually, I hope to see my esp32 in my CM3's iwlist scan, as well as use bluetoothctl to work with the esp32 ble. If there are any pointers to how I could go about doing this that would be great.

Hi,

If you are trying to use Esp32 as slave it is not possible in current case because of lack of necessary firmware.

Return to “Interfacing (DSI, CSI, I2C, etc.)”
