Send serially acquired data over ethernet

Sat Mar 17, 2018 1:23 pm

Hi all,

I have a project where I have some serial data being received at a rate of 921600bps and I need to process/parse that data and then send it over ethernet so that I can see the processed results over network (in a browser or something).

I have already searched and found that the baud rate of 921600 is possible by changing the parameter init_uart_clock=14745600 in /boot/config.txt.

My question is whether I can read the serial data at that rate, process it and then send it over ethernet reliably without losing any packets? Is it possible or will I face any limitations that I might not be aware of?

Thanks.
